Personalize Learning in Elementary Schools

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Join classroom teachers who are finding success in personalizing learning. First we'll clarify the term (how is it different from differentiated instruction? individualization?) Hear teacher stories sharing their techniques, their challenges, and view learners' work. We'll share digital portfolios, created using Google Sites. Time for conversation with like-minded teachers/leaders/librarians will be built in. Putting learners in the driver's seat is an exciting way to increase engagement as students build skills toward proficiency-based success in later years. Two copies of the book Make Learning Personal will be given as door prizes.

5/6 Classroom Teacher, Monkton Central School
I'm the one who says, "Wait. What if we ...?" and makes everyone else kind of nervous... until they, too, realize that the "what ifs" are the fun part.

Tech Integration Coach, SBHS

Although we’ve moved from Polaroids and 8-tracks to iPhones and Podcasts, often our pedagogy hasn’t changed. Let’s create new learning opportunities using the power of technology to do things we couldn’t have imagined back in the day!
