In 1980 CNN began as a 24-hour television news channel. How did they make money? Advertising. If you go to cnn.com though you may not see any ads. How are they making money? Does that business spend millions of dollars as a public service without expecting a return? It doesn't seem likely. This talk will explore just how many companies connect to you when you go online. We'll also look at the danger of "Echo Chamber Thinking" that develops as more and more is gleaned about us.
