The Winooski JiLab is creating an atmosphere where students take control of their learning during the school day. By setting goals in both academic and personal realms, having choice in content material and integrating technology into all projects, students continue grow into 21st century learners. Students on Team Journey are engaged in technology-enhanced approaches, personalized learning, portfolios and PLPs during jiLab time.

Team Journey is made up of 5 core content teachers, 1 special educator, 1 ELL teacher and 1 P4C ambassador teacher: for a grand total of 8 licensed teachers. We service 78 students. This vast amount of teacher resources allows us to look differently to maximize common planning, teaming and co-teaching. This year is a pilot program for Team Journey and the Winooski jiLab, but our hope for the future is to make this model to spread and thus become sustainable for the entire middle school. The Winooski JiLab has been supported throughout our implementation by the "Tarrant Institute" and Nellie Mae "Partnership for Change."
